Join Our Team – Wait Staff Position at the Waterfront Restaurant

Are you passionate about hospitality and delivering exceptional customer service? The Waterfront Restaurant at Kaiteriteri Recreation Reserve is looking for dedicated Wait Staff to join our team! This is a full-time position (40 hours per week), including weekends and public holidays.

About the Role

As Wait Staff, you will play a key role in creating an outstanding dining experience for our guests. You’ll provide friendly and professional service, take orders, serve food and drinks, and ensure that every guest feels welcomed and well cared for.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a team player with great problem-solving skills who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

To be successful in this role, you must:

• Hold a valid Manager’s Certificate (required for selling alcohol).

• Have experience as a barista or bar staff (an advantage but not essential).

• Be proactive, customer-focused, and a great team player.

• Communicate effectively and work well under pressure.

• Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high service standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests, ensuring a positive first impression.

• Take accurate food and drink orders, accommodating dietary requirements.

• Deliver meals and beverages efficiently while maintaining high service standards.

• Handle customer queries and concerns professionally and proactively.

• Work closely with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth service.

• Keep the dining area clean and organised, resetting tables as needed.

• Upsell menu items and promote daily specials.

• Process payments accurately and provide excellent customer service at checkout.

• Maintain high hygiene and food safety standards.
