The Opportunity:

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Head Chef to lead our kitchen team at the Waterfront Restaurant. This is a senior role where you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality culinary experiences that reflect our commitment to excellence. You’ll work closely with the Food and Beverage General Manager and oversee the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire the kitchen team, including Sous Chef and other kitchen staff, to deliver exceptional culinary experiences.
  • Create and update menus that balance innovation, customer preferences, dietary requirements, and seasonal ingredients.
  • Manage food preparation activities, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes.
  • Monitor and control food costs, inventory levels, and waste to optimise kitchen profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with food suppliers and negotiate to secure the best quality ingredients.
  • Address guest feedback and resolve any issues related to food quality or service.
  • Oversee the preparation and delivery of food for functions, events, and conferences.
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks of kitchen equipment and ensure compliance with all statutory requirements.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or similar senior role in a high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Creativity and passion for delivering high-quality food experiences.
  • Excellent understanding of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to manage budgets, control costs, and optimise kitchen operations.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments.
